Spring is here! That means warm weather, fresh air, and of course… spring cleaning. But this year, let’s take it a step further. Instead of just cleaning, let’s declutter—because a clean home is great, but a clutter-free home? That’s life-changing!
Why Decutter This Spring?
Over the past few years, many of us have accumulated more than ever before. Studies show that during the pandemic, spending on home goods increased by 38%. From fitness equipment to hobby supplies to home decor, we were buying to fill a void. But once that life returned to normal, much of it just feels… unnecessary.
That’s why decluttering now is so powerful. It’s not just about tidying up—it’s about letting go of the excess so we can focus on what truly matters.
Benefits of Decluttering
I’m going to give you three great reasons to Spring Declutter instead of Spring Clean. Then I’m going give you my list of 53 things that you may choose to remove from your home and life so you will have MORE ROOM to Enjoy Spring!
Reason #1: It frees up space—not just in your home, but in your mind. Less clutter means less stress and a more peaceful environment.
Reason #2: It saves you time and money. With fewer things to manage, you spend less time cleaning and less money replacing items you don’t actually need.
Reason #3: It’s better for the environment. The less we consume, the less waste we create. Plus, donating items you no longer use gives them a second life with someone who actually needs them.
Questions that will help you Declutter:
Have I used this in the last year?
If you haven’t, you probably won’t. Be honest with yourself—if it’s just taking up space, it’s time to let it go.
Could Someone Else Use This Today?
We often hold onto things “just in case.” But ask yourself: Is there someone out there who could use this right now? If so, donating is a much better option than keeping it stored away.
Decluttering isn’t about getting rid of everything—it’s about keeping what adds value to your life and letting go of what doesn’t. And once you’ve decluttered, spring cleaning becomes a breeze!
