We love purses! Do you?
Here are a few of the cool bags we offer at Angie’s Originals.
Look closely below… yep, you guessed it… they are soda tabs! But can you tell what else?
Would you believe the black leather-looking section on this purse is actually recycled tire material? Pretty cool, eh? I carry the large square purse quite often and always get tons of compliments on it.
These next two purses below are by Jane Plain, from right here in Southern Illinois. Each purse is constructed with heavy durable fabric and a leather strap. We are always excited to see what new designs “Jane” delivers to our shop!
Selected purses are available in our online Etsy Shop. If you see a purse you’d like to make your own, but it’s not in our Etsy Shop, just contact us and we’ll make special arrangements for you!
Angie’s Originals is happy to host an event where fellow business representatives can gather together to network, form relationships and support each other’s businesses. That’s what the Metropolis Chamber of Commerce Business-After-Hours is all about!
Stop in after work and enjoy refreshments and visit with friends – you might even win a prize!
Business After Hours is Open to Everyone – you don’t have to be a Chamber member to attend. We hope to see you!
Cold weather is still here -and we’ve got new creations to keep you warm!
This Duet Grey Sweater can be worn TWO ways! Our Boucle Alpaca sweater is super lightweight but extra warm. Wear it as a short jacket with scarf collar…..or flip it upside down and wear it as a long cardigan. How cool is that?!
Isn’t this striking? Andrea is wearing this one-size-fits-most Alpaca cardigan from Peru.
This charcoal Alpaca cardigan from Peru has a sleek collar that turns into pockets at the bottom. Andrea is also wearing a beautiful necklace by Judy Dummeier. Judy’s bead and wire jewelry is just spectacular!
This black and white scarf and hat is hand-knitted by Anita. How Cute!
All of these sweaters are one-size-fits-most. If you would like to purchase one of our sweaters, or the scarf and hat set just contact me for more details.
Local artist, Craig Rhodes, will be featured Jan. 9, 11 and 12 on WSIU’s Expressions television series. Expressions showcases the creative abilities, techniques, and inspirations of Southern Illinois artists. The show’s producer, Rajvee Subramanian, approached Angie’s Originals in Metropolis recently to learn more about local artists in the Metropolis area.
Following several discussions, Craig Rhodes was invited to Carbondale where a studio interview was held at WSIU, the southern Illinois PBS affiliate. The crew from Expressions then visited Rhodes’ studio in Massac County where they captured video for the episode. Rhodes and his work will be featured on an episode this week that is scheduled to air 5 times:
Thursday, January 9 at 9 p.m. – WSIU HD Channel
Saturday, January 11 at 5 and 10:30 p.m. – WSIU World Channel
Sunday, January 12 at 2 p.m. and at 5:30 p.m. – WSIU HD channel
Rhodes’ pottery, as well as works by other potters and artists, can been seen at Angie’s Originals, 312 E. 5th St. in Metropolis. Owner Angie Sivori explains that she started her business 3 years ago as a way to provide a place for local artisans to display and sell their works. Originals now features works by over 25 local and regional artists as well as fair trade items made by artisans from around the world.
