Celebrating Our Third Anniversary

UPDATE:  Angie’s Originals has closed since this posting, but I still love to reflect on my time and friends made when operating my little business. 🙂

Angie’s Originals held its annual Anniversary and Artists Celebration on Nov. 23, 2013.

Wow!  Three Years!  The time has just flown by!

It doesn’t seem that long ago that we were scraping the pillars on the front porch and repainting… going to flea markets looking for unique finds for displays… reaching out to area artists…

So many people were a part of the creation of Angie’s Originals – and to all of you,  I say  THANK YOU! Angie’s Originals opened on Oct. 29, 2010 with a handful of artists.  Now we are happy to feature creations from over 25 artists in the region.

20131205-220413.jpgEach year on our anniversary, we host a day where a few of our artists are on hand to demonstrate their respective craft.  Customers and friends can see the artists in action and ask questions to learn more about their art.

20131205-220531.jpgJamie Jones is one of our newest artist.  She showed customers how she hand-felts alpaca fiber into a hats. Jamie also knits and felts scarves and other items.

20131205-220739.jpgIt is about a 5-hour process of working the fiber by hand with soap and water to make a hat.

20131205-220932.jpgDiane Bremer has been one of our featured potters from our very first day. She made several pots on this day while visiting with our customers and friends. When you visit our boutique, you’ll see a large collection of Diane’s pottery and a few of her paintings, too.

20131205-220814.jpgAnita Price was busy knitting a cable scarf during our Anniversary Celebration. Anita’s knitted dish cloths and Shimmer Scarves are also popular items in our boutique.

20131205-220620.jpgWhile all of us girls were inside where it was warm, Monte Bremer was demonstrating outside in a tent.  But don’t worry, we had a heater going for him out there 🙂  Monte makes a variety of items including keepsake boxes, rolling pins, cutting boards, wall hanging and walking sticks.

Thanks to all who have supported us and helped us to grow over the last three years. A special thanks goes to my husband, Bill, who has supported me every step of the way.  We have made a lot of great friends through this adventure, and look forward to meeting more artists and customers!
